Nasturzio, flavours and colours under a sky of petals
Felt and light play a leading role in the new restaurant Nasturzio (Albino, Bergamo) in the design proposed by the architects Francesca Perani and Arianna Foresti
Located in Albino, Val Seriana, Nasturzio has recently taken shape in the renovated Carmelite complex of the Santuario della Ripa, under the ownership of emerging chefs Cinzia Mismetti, William Bertocchi and Jonathan Signorelli.

The installation project curated by architects Francesca Perani and Arianna Foresti reinterprets an open space of 130 square meters in a subtle way yet with great scenic impact.
A felt aerial textile installation invades the dining room, softening the rigidity of the pre-existing architectural lines and creating a new acoustic balance. The choice to keep tone-on-tone with a warm neutral colour and a pattern evocative of the petal, narrates the identity of the entire restaurant, which takes its name from an edible ornamental flower originating in Peru, used since ancient times to embellish dishes.
The ceiling is thus enriched with 140 fabric petals, arranged in a regular grid that recalls the compositional accuracy characteristic of the careful and exclusive choices of the chefs.

The many felt models move the regular, rigid space of the room, giving depth to the environment and creating a setting that extends also to the back walls of the room.
Two partitions move downward from the ceiling, and envelop the space around the guests. The new lighting system integrates with the set-up offering lighting points aimed at giving intimacy and highlighting the dishes served.
A large bespoke wrought iron structure features a felt niche, which houses the bottle storage unit inserted in the curvilinear partition located behind the counter.
Two materials in antithesis for their intrinsic qualities, iron and felt, coexist in balance in a new elegant and original space, where even noise is mitigated to increase emotional comfort.

Ad Albino in Val Seriana ha di recente preso forma il ristorante Naturzio, proprietà degli chef emergenti Cinzia Mismetti, William Bertocchi e Jonathan Signorelli, inserito nel complesso Carmelitano ristrutturato del Santuario della Ripa.
Il progetto di allestimento curato dalle architette Francesca Perani e Arianna Foresti, reinterpreta in modo leggero ma al tempo stesso di grande impatto scenico un openspace di 130 mq.

Un’installazione tessile aerea in feltro invade la sala da pranzo ammorbidendo la rigidità delle linee architettoniche pre-esistenti e creando un nuovo equilibrio sonoro. La scelta di mantenere tono su tono con un colore caldo neutro e un pattern evocativo del petalo, racconta l’identità dell’intero locale, che prende il nome da un fiore ornamentale edibile originario del Perù, utilizzato sin dall’antichità per impreziosire le pietanze.
Il soffitto si arricchisce così di 140 petali di tessuto, disposti in una griglia regolare che richiama l’accuratezza compositiva che caratterizza le scelte attente ed esclusive degli chef.

I diversi modelli di feltro movimentano lo spazio regolare, rigido della sala, regalando profondità all’ambiente e formando una scenografia che si estende anche sulle pareti di fondo del locale.
Due quinte teatrali dal soffitto si calano così verso i commensali ed avvolgono lo spazio che li circonda. 
Il nuovo impianto di illuminazione si integra con l’allestimento proponendo punti luce finalizzati a conferire intimità e a mettere in risalto i piatti serviti.
Un’ampia struttura in ferro battuto, progettata su misura, caratterizza invece una nicchia in feltro, che accoglie la bottigliera inserita nella partizione curvilinea posizionata dietro il bancone. 
Ferro e feltro, due materiali in antitesi per le loro qualità intrinseche, convivono in armonia in un nuovo spazio elegante ed originale dove anche il rumore viene mitigato aumentandone il comfort emozionale.
